Tynemouth is a quaint Victorian village located at the mouth of the River Tyne on the dramatic North Eastern coastline only 8 miles from Newcastle city centre. On the headland overlooking the stunning beach is the Benedictine Tynemouth Priory and Castle, dating back to the 11th Century.
There is a popular antiques market every Sunday at the old Metro station and there are plenty of exclusive shops and traditional pubs and restaurants to choose from. “The Land of Green Ginger ” an old converted church also offers a change from the norm with specialist shops galore.
